Aweome - must have for Vice fans

I can't comment on the reported 5.1 dolby issues that people have been reporting. I've been watching in stereo mode off my playstation and I can say that after watching about 20 episodes the blu ray upgrade is awesome. The sound and picture quality is an improvement over the previous dvd release. The blacks are dark black and the colors are brighter. The picture quality is much sharper overall. It's true that it seems in night time filmed scenes or dimly lit settings that the picture quality doesn't seem "hi def". I 'm not sure but I suspect that maybe they used a different camera for those types of scenes and the quality just wasn't that high to start with.? A great example of the the upgrade in sound, color and quality is the opening of "Out where the buses don't run" on season 2. Outstanding!

The 80's just don't get old...

Although discs are becoming a thing of the past, I decided to buy this set. The quality is decent considering that Blue Ray is superior to the recording technology the had back in the 80's. And considering over 90 hours of Miami Vice, the cost is hard to beat. As for the show, there is nothing I need to add. Being a teenager in the 80's it's needless to say I couldn't get enough of Miami Vice. Then again, of all the decades I was fortunate to experience, the 80's are still my favorite. If you like the spirit of the 80's, I recommend this disc set. Thanks.

So satisfying to get Miami Vice entire series run in Blu-Ray format. Sound and video is excellent. The only thing missing is subtitles but can't complain with this release!
