Aqueon Plant, Fish and Shrimp Aquarium Clay Substrate 5 Pounds

I'm using this as a base layer in my aquarium, capped with coarse sand under fine sand, so three layers all together. I can't tell you if it clouds up the water or not. It is, however, doing what I wanted, which is to give my plants something a little less compacted to root in. I just rescaped my tank from the ground up a couple weeks ago, but so far, so good! It's doing its job for a decent price.
