Well worth the spent

I purchased this product to deal with a very invasive woody weed. It works great on killing poison ivy, Virginia Creeper, and this particular weed...Hemp Dogbane. Some of the other weeds that I applied it to began to die by the next day. The three weeds that I mentioned above began to turn yellow within a week. Ortho Groundclear kills to the root of the weeds to keep it from continuing to propagate. This product is concentrated, requiring only 4 oz. of product to 1 gallon of water. We mixed it in our pump sprayer for application. At this time, I definitely consider it a good value for my money but next year will be the real test, to see if the weeds come back. I think this battle with Hemp Dogbane will be a battle for many years to come, but with Ortho Groundclear as a partner, I believe I have a qualified partner.

Misleading Label; be patient, tough brush is toast

Effective, but as Hammer found out, grossly mislabeled. Calling a broad leaf herbicide "Ground Clear" is like calling a nail a "clamp".True enough, the subtitle is ACCURATE: it is a "Tough Brush Killer," IF you allow it to work for 4-6 weeks. However, most people, including Hammer read "Ground Clear" and they think they're buying a "kills all" herbicide. Tryplocler is for "woody," "broadleaf" species, but NOT: grasses. I think it is far more effective than "R-U" for Poison Oak, Blackberry, Buck Brush (ceanothus) and Scotch Broom. The latter two are very oily, making them very dangerous and effective ladder fuels in wildfire. In the Sierra Foothills, having Buck Brush and Scotch Broom on your property is like storing little cans of oil throughout your property. Hence, my use and endorsement of the former names of this product: Brush B Gon & Poison Ivy and the current confusing moniker Ground Clear Poison Ivy. Be Patient, it takes 4-6 weeks to be effective, but my experience since 1982 is that this stuff works. Hope your results are as good as mine.
