I always use these gaskets. They work

I use these a lot .020 thick steel shim, unless the piston is really close to the valves or the compression is getting too high. I use this gasket with a light spray of copper Indian Head gasket spray on both sides then a good torque wrench. Never had one blow out. Use good head bolts too, Ie: ARP.
