I took this for the rash I had when I got Fifth's Disease. I wouldn't wish that illness on my worst enemy! As an adult with this illness I had a fever, conjunctivitis, fatigue, weakness through out my body, headache, runny nose, cough, achy muscles and joints, my eyes actually ached too, and no appetite. The rash that developed across my face was irritating but nothing like the body rash! The worst part of it was the weird lacy looking rash that crept all over my trunk, legs, arms, and body. It itched intensely 24/7 and was absolutely relentless! I tried Xyzal, Benadryl, and I was prescribed Prednisone by my doctor and none of that helped. I had the itchy rash for almost 3 weeks! It's just now starting to heal and fade away. It left my skin so dry and rough! The only thing that gave me some relief from the itching was this medicine Allegra Hives. It was such a relief to be able to sleep at night. My skin felt like it was crawling as the rash spread everywhere it felt like a million little red ant stings and it itched so so bad. If you can avoid catching this virus I recommend doing so because it's horrible to catch as an adult. It's a childhood disease that isn't as severe in small children but teenagers and adults suffer horribly and it takes a lot longer for our bodies to fight and clear this virus. It can also cause you to become anemic too I became slightly anemic with it. I highly recommend this medication for relief from itchy rashes.
