Cute, large puzzle for 4-6 year olds
First, I'd recommend that you buy these in store rather than having them shipped because the box was crushed upon arrival. It was only shipped in a bag, so that's not terribly surprising, but it's disappointing for a box that is supposed to contain the puzzle long term and be reusable. The pieces are large, perfect for small children's hands. Each piece is about 6"x4", and there are 36 pieces making it a puzzle that's 34"x22.7". Each piece is made out of thick cardboard, so they're sturdy, but not wooden, so the corners can still bend and fray with some effort. The design is cute, and my kids love it! It's appropriately challenging for my 4 year old.

Fun and educational!
Melissa & Doug USA Map Giant Floor Puzzle is fun and educational. It comes with 42 large pieces that are bright and colorful. It is fun, easy to assemble and the pieces fit together easily. This giant map shows all 50 states and has a picture on each that relates to that state. It shows surrounding countries of Canada and Mexico. It also shows the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Alaska, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Great Lakes. I love that it has a compass so children can learn directions. It also has a legend that list all state capitals! My children really enjoy this Melissa & Doug USA Map Giant Floor Puzzle. They ask to put it together everyday. They love asking questions about the pictures, states, and oceans. There are several ways to learn with this puzzle and games you can come up with that are a good fit for your childs age. I like that this puzzle come with a box to store it in with a handle making it easy to transport. I think this is a great educational puzzle that is fun for kids of all ages that do not know the geography of the United States of America and state capitals.
