they are easy to assemble. Has a switch for high %26 low heat However, when they came the bottom plate was dented and scratched , it was sent in separate packaging. They told me my order arrived. I was missing the long pole which came the next day . I put in a return claim to and the meantime I ordered another one to replace it. So now I have two both of them were damaged. The cold weather hit us here in Texas so I kept both of them to give my cats some relief from the cold
