Maker's Mark Straight Bourbon Whisky, 750 ml Single Glass Bottle, 45% ABV

It's easy to fall in love with Maker's Mark from the very first moment you catch sight of the bottle. A square bottle beaming with its deep amber content and topped with a scarlet red wax. Opening the bottle feel part of the ritual as you peel back the wax to get to the cap, and then the butterscotch and vanilla notes are released as you take the cap off for the first time. The first pour of the bottle over ice gives a welcoming glug, and the first sip is smooth, rounded and satisfying. It's a whisky that is as equally as home taken straight, or with a mixer in your favourite cocktail. If you like American whisky, you'll love this, and if you're not a fan of Bourbon, i'd still recommend giving this a go.

I'm a big fan of bourbons, but had yet to try this particular brand. Not expecting anything particularly specially about this brand I was surprised at how good this tasted. It's smooth, with just the right oaky flavour combination and an almost vanilla'y aftertaste.
