I can't say I've spilled anything on it so I can't vouch for the "waterproof-ness". I got it just to protect the mattress overall, and I was worried it was going to be uncomfy or crunchy, but so far it has been on a week and I forgot all about it. It hasn't moved around or caused any issues. The corners seemed a little shallow so I was worried it was going to pop off, but so far so good. Especially for the price.
