Mainstays Stainless Steel 24-Piece Kitchen Set

These pots and pans are the very good set I've ever owned and I have always had non-stick pans on the other side and kind of stopped using stainless steel for pain of cleaning and keeping them nice. But this set comes to change my perception because they are optimally sized, moderately weighted and have got nice finish inside, outside and edged smooth enough for easy and quick cleaning experience either in sink or dishwasher. The set has like three lids for two different pots, solid spoon and slotted spatula, sauce pan and this is all a small family needs it mostly. It is also okay and easy to use them in non-stick fashion but requires little effort to put them on the heat for a half a minute or so, then add five to six drops of regular olive oil that is meant for frying purposes. Once the pan bottom has a layer of evenly distributed oil that looks shimmery, we are ready to go cook. The whole set cleans up just fine. If I do get a bit of cooked-on stuff, like potato drippings or flour stuck fried, I just soak in soapy water in it for an hour or so and use magic cleaner to get new shine and look back. Quality of stainless is great and durable over daily usage for several years in my view. A great set to own or send as gift for holidays and highly recommend this high value for money set.

Important- While the set is mostly stainless steel it is aluminum clad on the base (a magnet will not stick to the bottom of them) so it won't work with induction cook tops. It does work well on my radiant glass cooktop. This set has just about everything someone starting out would need as far as pots, pans and most utensils goes. These have a tri-layer base for even heat distribution. The lids are vented which is important for those with glass cooktops. I've heard a couple times where people put a hot unvented lid on a stove, let it cook and tried to remove the stuck lid to find that it shattered their glass top. Let's be honest, this isn't your well to do parent(s) or grandparent(s) thick bottomed super heavy duty pots and pans. But, I can honestly say that it is a good starting set that will last as long as it is cared for properly. I most recommend this set especially for someone starting out that needs everything. The biggest complaint I have is with the plastic lids for the little condiment bowls. They don't snap on and only rest on top. They are definitely not air tight or spill proof. Given this is such a small part of the overall set it doesn't really bother me personally but I find it worth mentioning.
