Ideal for use in the kitchen sink to trap and catch food debris while cleaning your dishware and cookware. The adjustable stem stopper can be used in the closed position to keep water in the sink or in the open position to allow water to drain and food debris to collect inside the basket. The quality of this item is fine. I just did not find it as user friendly as I would have liked. I spent more and purchased the Mainstays sink strainers for the kitchen and bathtub instead. I am glad I did. They are much easier to use, clean and remove debris. Buy these instead.

I thought it was a great value for a great price...fit my sink and looked fine. But, it doesn't easily work in a situation where you don't want it to keep the water in the sink. The mechanism doesn't stay in the up position when water is running, so the sink keeps filling up....big bother! Will most likely look for something better.
