This story is called, “A Tragedy, a Triumph, and the Greatest Wire Shoe Rack Known to Humankind…” Let me start by saying this Mainstays wire shoe rack and I had a journey. At first, it was a slapstick comedy. Shoes falling. Rack collapsing. Me staring at it like, “Sir?? We had an agreement.” Turns out—plot twist—the problem was NOT the rack. The problem was me and my bold decision to freestyle the instructions like I was on a home improvement reality show. Here's the key, folks, listen closely: the two outer pieces must have the rough wire connector pieces (brand wording) facing OUTWARD, not inward. OUT. WARD. I repeat this because if you put them inward (like I did), the rack will absolutely fold itself like a lawn chair and dump your shoes in protest. It's not broken. It's disappointed in you. (Note-each level of the rack must also face with the edge sloping downward too. Not up.) Once I stopped living dangerously and flipped those outer pieces correctly—connector bits facing outward like they're proudly greeting the world—this thing “snapped” and transformed into the most stable, secure shoe rack I have ever known. I'm talking rock-solid. Fort Knox for footwear. Earthquake-ready. NASA could store moon boots on this thing. Now? I absolutely LOVE it. It's awesome. My shoes are neatly organized, well-ventilated, and no longer living in a shameful, stinky pile on the floor plotting my demise. My hallway smells better. My life is better. My shoes feel respected. So yes, if you ignore the instructions, it will collapse. But if you assemble it correctly—outer pieces, connectors facing outward—and each rack with the lip aiming downward, this rack is a masterpiece!! Learn from my mistakes. Be smarter than past me. Buy the rack. Respect the rack. Enjoy a pile-free, stink-free future.

Son got his first apartment. This very awesome shoe rack was only $16. Very nice! This shoe rack was perfect for the entry way and saved shoes slopping all over the floor by the door. This shoe rack is VERY sturdy. Some reviews stated the rack fell apart and did not secure together. There are no screws. It all pops snugly into place. This one did. It holds anywhere from 3 to 5 shoes on each shelf depending on how small or huge the shoe size is. The shoe rack just snaps snug and solid together, looks so clean and nice. You could put these in a closet and also use it to put sweaters, crafts, books, games, or whatever else on it.
