M-D Building Products 01958 White Aluminum and Vinyl Screw-on Top and Sides Door Seal Kit

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I bought the M-D White Aluminum Weatherstrip Set For Door Jambs for $22.34 and the regular price was listed at $79.99. Other stores have it between $20-$40 so the regular price is definitely inflated. I wish the weatherstrips came in a few colors. My doors are off white so the bright white is more noticeable. Walmart's website has two pictures of the item and a very limited product description. I went on other sites and saw pictures with this in use as well as step by step videos. The instructions on the label include three steps and they're fairly easy to understand. It also has pictures of the tools required to install the weatherstrip. This strip is rated good according to MD so there are obviously much better ones, but $22 is a great price for these. The package comes with two 84" pieces and one 36" inch piece that can be cut to size. Typically, you use weatherstrips on exterior doors, but I chose to use this for an interior door. We have a game room upstairs where my boys can get really loud and we can hear quite a bit of the noise in the main living space. We put this around the door to help with some of the noise. We also put a door draft stopper on the bottom. Make sure you measure twice and cut with a hacksaw. Installing it was easy and we appreciated the hardware being included. We realized after installing, the door didn't shut completely anymore. We have automatic door hinges that close the door. We adjusted the hinges, but also changed the placement on the seal by the hinge. I think my husband pushed it against the door too much when he was screwing on the piece. We should have checked after we installed each fastener instead of doing it all and then checking. This can obviously be used on exterior doors to prevent drafts and bugs from getting into your home as well.

It fits doors up to 36 inches and includes the screws that are needed to install the product. The instructions are on the back of the wrapper. Overall, I'm excited to see how this helps to insulate our house a little bit more during the winter and also during the summer by providing a better seal.
