Well built stable ladder
The first thing I noticed about this 20' aluminum ladder was the relatively light weight for a ladder with such a high reach. I also own an 18' fiberglass ladder of another name brand and I can tell a difference between the weight of the two. The fiberglass ladder is a little more stable, however. The next thing I noticed was how well built the ladder is. But with this being a type II ladder with a higher cost and nice features, I wouldn't expect it to be entry level. The ladder features d-shaped rungs that provide a secure foothold for climbing and standing, rubber end caps that protect the floor surface, and well-built rubber top pieces designed to protect the surface that you are leaning it against. You can also tell that the welds that attach the rungs to the ladder body are very high quality. The rope operated extension function of the ladder works well and it has an easy to use locking mechanism that moves up and down the ladder to adjust it to the desired height. Some negatives are that the length of the ladder does not lend itself to easy transport and the weight limit of 225 lbs does not leave a lot of buffer room for larger folks or for taking supplies up with you. Overall, this is a well-built lightweight ladder that I would recommend.
It gets the job done
I got this to do a little work around the house. Being a home owner I think this is an excellent ladder. It is 10 feet when standing tall but once you extend it out the maximum extension for this is 17 feet, just keep in mind that there will be a three feet overlap of the base and fly section so you will not actually get the full twenty. It is very light, durable and easy to move by one person. I started using this to finish painting the trim around my one story home and I was able to reach most of it without me even extending it out. The weight capacity says that its 225 lbs but I weigh 250 and still felt comfortable getting on this ladder. The unit is sturdy and extends and retracts in 1 step increments with very little effort. This is just what I needed and I have no complaints.
Great Ladder
I received this Louisville Ladder 20- Foot Aluminum Extension Ladder, 225- Pound Capacity, Type II, W-2222-20PG from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program to try out and review. I really like this Ladder. It is light enough to move and set up easy but strong enough to hold a 225 pound person. The set up and extension adjustments are very easy.
