I broke my grandmother's on accident. The handle and sidewall broke clean off. It was old, though it was around 70 years old, and definitely had a good life of service to my grandmother and at least 10 years to me. my grandmother was 100 years old. and passed in 09.

Very Handy Pan

Good little pan. Good size for 3-4 fried eggs, or a big grilled cheese sandwich, or a couple hamburger patties. I also make toast on it, as I make homemade bread and the slices don't always fit well in a toaster. And, for a cast iron pan, it's not too heavy. I love cast iron pans, but I've had to give up using the heavier ones, so I was happy to find this. I think it's deep enough to bake cornbread or Irish soda bread.

I prefer Lodge brand Cast Iron products

This 9" Lodge preseasoned Cast Iron Skillet does not disappoint. I make small cornbread recipes and apple pies in mine. Perfect size for a 4 person hearty serving of Cornbread. This 9" has slanted sides, not the straight up and down sides like the larger skillets have. I actually prefer the slanted sides on this skillet. I recommend Lodge brand, Walmart delivered my Lodge 9" directly from my local Walmart store in town and it came with all it's paperwork attached, how to care and clean for the skillet.
