It looks intimidating but is not- it is actually very easy to use and keep clean. It gives the option to practice your barista skills or just go in autopilot. The tamper is easy to use-some coffee grounds do fall down in the tray but they can be easily vacuumed out or just dump when cleaning the tray. The steamer is great- I had one that was just regular manual mode and it was fun the first few times but after that you had to sit and wait for it to warm up and steam the milk- sometimes it would be great other times my steaming skills were off and it was not as great. The auto milk steamer just does it on its own! I push the OK button and in about a minute I have my perfect cup of whatever I want! I even do not use my Moccamaster coffee machine as much (just for more than a cup)- this makes a better cup of coffee that tastes superb. The auto mil steamer needs to be cleaned after use - there is a cleaning on the machine that is easy but then it should be taken apart and rinsed out- it takes about a minute so I'm not taking anything off the review.
