Wonderful quality for the price
I am happy with this yarn so far. The colors are awesome, noble, artistic colors I would say: not boring plain cheesy "blue, white, pink, purple". The yarn itself is very soft and feels great in your hands. I am especially happy it is not slippery and has a little "tooth" in it that helps to hide ends easily without them coming out after you stretch the finished fabric. The only question - why the online price is so much higher than the price of the same yarn in the store? Our local Walmart carries it for $3.97 per skein.

Great yarn from Lion Brand
Lion Brand Heartland yarns come in a nice variety of colors--some also come in tweed versions--and the yarn itself is nice and soft without being hard to work with. I will say, though, that the yarn wrapper suggests using a J hook, but I'm using an H and it's a much better hook for the size of the yarn. I started with Glacier Bay, then got some Olympia, and now I have three more colors waiting for me. I crochet almost every day, and I do like variety in my yarns as well as in my stitches and patterns. Heartland is soft enough to use for children's projects as well as making things for adults.
