Star Wars The Black Series Archive Grand Admiral Thrawn 6-inch Action Figure

After seeing the Ahsoka episode of The Mandalorian, one of my daughters looked at me with a confused expression and said, "Dad, who's Thrawn?". I could not believe I so totally failed my children. Before Disney swung in like Miley on a wrecking ball and rebranded Star Wars' history as Legends, fans already had a sequel trilogy. A GOOD one. The Thrawn Trilogy. Through it, Timothy Zahn gave us tangible, well developed characters that could not only hold their own in settings with our movie heroes, they could hold entire scenes without them. This series was the genesis of Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, and of course Thrawn. This figure probably isn't the Thrawn from the EU, although Legends is mentioned on the timeline printed on the back of the box. The character has been reintroduced into Star Wars in the series Rebels and Zahn's own new canon series aptly titled Thrawn. From what I gathered of Rebels, the character is there in name and appearance only any only bears a passing resemblance to the original Grand Admiral we came to fear and respect. But anyway, the figure only comes with a small sidearm. He is well sculpted with good articulation in the joints. Notable exception being the hips, but with a uniform like his, what can you expect. This gives my kids something to hold while I read them Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command. A series that brought together a unified fanbase and didn't attempt to push an agenda over good story telling.
