great except for tank life span

I enjoy the convenience of having instant hot water and the insinkerator hot water system has worked well for me for years. Only drawback is that you can expect the tank to fail in about 5 years. I just installed my 3rd tank. This time circuit breaker was tripping apparently because the tank was leaking on interior wiring.

Great tank, but a chemical smell to water

Our original tank lasted just over 3 years, beyond the warranty, but we loved it so much we went for round two. Just installed it, easy install. But, this time the water smells and tastes a little chemically. Our tap water is just fine - no smells, so thinking I may need to run a bunch of gallon flushes?
