Levelland (Full Frame)

Seven skateboarding friends test the limits of summertime freedom in a stiflingly stranded suburb. Fueled by punk rock, ringleaders Zach and Nick search for skateable terrain and thrills in empty swimming pools and drainage ditches in the cul-de-sac landscape. Zach has a crush on a pretty girl but he's fallen into an easy affair with his drama teacher, that's starting to get all too real. Older brother Nick is sliding towards a dark depression. Derrick, the youngest of the group, struggles with his father, a football coach who looks down on skateboarding as the pursuit of loners and dead-enders. Steve skates hard, knowing it's the last time a poor Tejano kid comes out on top in suburbia. Tomboy Better experiences crushes and confusion trying to get by in a male-dominated arena. They're all skating close to the edge and just because you don't get caught doesn't mean you skate away clean. Featuring music from the early punk era such as the Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Buzzcocks, The Replacements, and much much more.
