Unlucky person

I just got mine and it’s not turning on. When i turn it on the keyboard backlight is just blinking, it’s plugged in. I’m returning this tomorrow to get a refund, what a waste of time, and this is my first time to buy a gaming laptop and all i get is a defective one.

last Lenovo: 5 yrs! This one? 13 months!

Save yourself some outrage. This machine performs really well, but mine died shortly after the warranty expired; and Lenovo's customer service was only a degree shy of caustic. Apparently, these have a high failure rate. Oh, and the cost of a new motherboard? $750 + labor.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Legion Y720 Gaming Laptop. A reset of the device back to original factory settings may fix the issue. Since you can not boot the device normally, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the USB port on the right side device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Never recommend

This has been the worst laptop I've ever bought. I had so many problems with it and the continue to surface. the latest is the networking chip in it failed. It's had so many parts replaced due to failure, the only things original now are the buttons on the keyboard and the display. I rarely use the keyboard anymore luckily. I have everything coming off a hub so I don't use the display either. I will NEVER buy Lenovo products again. it cost way too much time, money, and frustration.
