Excellent Gaming Laptop if you can find it

Purchasing a gaming laptop in 2021 has been a challenge due to shortages. I was happy to see this Lenovo be available and for it to include the RTX 3070 graphics card. This laptop model is well designed and has USB-A and USB-c ports on the side and back of the machine, which makes plugging in accessories convenient. The machine is accessible for upgrading the SSD and the ram in the future.

First Gaming Laptop

I really loved the shipping went by fast, which took about a week. Usually, it takes two weeks to a couple of months to ship and arrive where I'm at, so, the earlier the better. Plus, everything is secured. The laptop is amazing, fast, responsive, and no issue. What really got me is the screen, ports, and build of the laptop. Big screen, all port at the back, and the build is tough and thinking of ventilation. What truly got me astounded is the power brick, which is huge. Overall, my first gamjng laptop and works wonders.

it's a beast!

First things first: Get it in store for 1399. don't pay 2499 from third party. Lenovo direct sells it cheaper than that and its in stock. What can I say, this thing is a beast. It rocks a 3070 at 140W which makes it one of the best versions you can currently get. Build/design: This thing has some weight, at 5.4lb it is definitely on the heavier side. The case, both top and bottom, are aluminum so it's pretty premium feeling. Internal build looks great as well, with metal covers with thermal pads over the 512gb NVMe and another on the opposite side for the second drive you can install, and also has a metal cover over the 2 ram slots. The design on this doesn't really have a "gamer" look to it. It's silver with no RGB on the outside except for the Y shape in the back of the screen, which is only white( and can be turned off by pressing fn l) so it can be used for office work as well. Keyboard: It has 4 zone RGB. Unfortunate it isn't per-key but it is still okay. It uses Lenovi Vantage to control keyboard settings like color and function keys. Cooling: It has pretty good cooling. Fans stayed moderately quiet during a Modern Warfare session with GPU temp reaching 71 in my case. When not gaming it stays completely silent. Upgrades: It has 2 total m.2 slots available, with 1 already having a 512gb NVMe drive installed. Ram can be upgraded to 64GB total (2x32GB), and it's actually recommended by others to upgrade the ram to slightly better stuff. HyperX Impact DDR4 SODIMM 3200Mhz 16GB sticks are what I've seen recommended, just make sure they are dual channel memory. Reviews have showed that it actually adds a lot more performance by doing the quick upgrade. Battery life: Its average for a gaming laptop. When it's running on the discrete card you can get a few hours of web browsing/videos, however if you switch it to hybrid mode(so it uses the Radeon instead when not gaming) it helps a huge amount. You can also press fn r to change the screen refresh rate to 60Hz to extend it even more.
