This is a very well-made, attractive bamboo storage box. It arrived quickly and perfect condition. It has a hinged lid that opens easily. Inside there is a shallow tray with some little compartments to store small treasures. The tray can be lifted out completely, revealing a larger space below that could store even more small treasures. Some little pieces of soft cloth could be used as a lining for each of the storage compartments if desired (please note that this item does not come with any cloth at all, and it is not advertised in the listing as coming with any cloth ). When the lid is closed, a metal latch is can be moved into place, and once the latch is in place, the box will stay closed even if it's not upright. The latch opens and closes easily. Every bamboo surface of this box is very smooth and a gorgeous color. It's really a beautiful little box. The only problem we had was the design that's carved or etched across the top of the lid. I purchased this little box for my 6-year-old niece, and she was really excited about it, except she didn't like the design on the lid. We couldn't come up with any solution to this problem. We considered the possibility of attaching another piece of wood to cover the lid and the possibility of attaching a piece of cloth to cover the lid, but my niece said the design would still be there even if it was covered up, which I had to admit was true. So the design on the lid was the deal-breaker, and I ended up returning the item. I hope the manufacturer will consider producing this same type of box with no design on the lid, because if that style was available right now, I would definitely purchase it. Everything else about the box was great. One last thing of note: size matters. The title of this item as listed on the Walmart website includes either the word "big" or "large" - and whichever word it is, it's in all capitals. As such, one would expect the inclusion of the word "big" or "large" in the title of the item to be indicative of this item being reasonably sizable. This box is neither big nor large. I had checked the measurements in the listing prior to purchasing it, and I believe they were 7"×5"×4" - dimensions I personally would not refer to as big or large. However, the dimensions were just right for a little jewelry box/treasure box for my little niece, though, and I was not at all disappointed about the size of the item when it arrived. But if I had neglected to check the dimensions in the listing prior to making the purchase, I might have been expecting the box to be significantly bigger than it was. All in all, this really is a lovely little storage box, and if you happen to appreciate or feel neutral about the design on the lid, I suspect you'll love it.
