Perfect solution for multi-display over USB-C

The Kensington SD4900P docking station works great as it is capable of driving 3x high resolution displays over USB-C. My home office uses a Windows10 Dell Precision 5520 notebook connected to the SD4900P with 3x Dell U2717D (2560 x 1440) display panels attached. Also running 400Mb ENET + USB 3.0 external HDD + external speakers + external keyboard/mouse through the docking station. The added flexibility of connecting the display panels over DP or HDMI worked out perfect for my setup. By using HDMI on the Kensington dock, I have the added flexibility to share the 3x displays panels with another computer via the unused Dell U2717D display ports. Initially, I ran into problems as the docking station would periodically lose connection to the Dell notebook over USB-C . The disconnect issue persisted for several weeks with the 3x Dell U2717D display panels connected to the docking station via DP or HDMI or with different display panels attached. Likewise, updating to the latest Dell SBIOS, drivers or Display Link drivers had little to no effect on the failure. During this period, Kensington Support did a great job assisting me with debug of the failure. At the end of the day, we determined the source of the problem was due to a defective Dell notebook and not an issue with the Kensington dock. After replacing the Dell notebook with the same Precision 5520 model (notebook under warranty), the notebook + docking station have worked flawlessly ever since. For those of you looking for a well built and reliable USB-C docking station capable of driving 3x high resolution displays, the Kensington SD4900P is well worth your consideration.
