Saved money vs. using a commercial printer

Looked at having 1000 pages of colour promotional materials for a trade show I was attending. To printed at local Copy and Print Centre was going to be a minimum of $519.75 for printing and folding of these 1000 pages (2 double-sided documents of 250 copies each). I printed approximately 1500 pages using my new printer within the first 24 hours. Factoring in the cost of the printer, 2 packages of 32lb specialty paper, label paper, and some promo display materials - I still saved between $50-100 by purchasing this printer. Paid for itself my first use!! Takes up quite a bit more space than my last printer (MFC-J6510), but very impressed with the speed, print quality, and quietness of machine thus far!

Brilliant printer

First time I have purchased a Brother printer and I am certainly not disappointed. Very easy to set up and to use. Even though it is not a photo printer (only has 4 cartridges) the quality of the photo's is very good. Double scanning and printing. Superb

Saved money by purchasing vs. using commercial printer

I wanted to have 1000 pages of colour promotional materials printed up for a trade show I was attending in mid-April. A local Copy and Print Centre quoted $519.75 for the printing and folding of these 1000 pages (2 double-sided documents of 250 copies each). After a moment's thought, I decided to purchase a new printer. My Brother MFC-J6510 has printed over 30,000 pages in the last 5.5 years, and still works well - just the colour quality isn't quite as sharp as it once was (works great on "best" but is quite slow to print that fine). Still, Brother is my top choice. Print quality and cost of ink replacements were two of my biggest considerations, but I also wanted to still have the ability to scan and print 11 x 17" documents. This printer's double-sided scan feature, and year's worth of ink in the box quickly sold me on this particular model. I printed approximately 1300 pages using my new printer within the first 24 hours. Factoring in the cost of the printer, paper and labels, I still saved nearly $100 by purchasing this product versus using a commerical printer. It literally paid for itself with its very first use!! Although this MFC's footprint is quite a bit beefier than my last, I am extremely impressed with the speed, print quality, and quietness of machine thus far! I would definitely recommend and would repurchase again.
