I purchased a gaming desktop and it didn't come with a cd drive. This unit was on sale for 26 bucks. When I compared it to other models in that price range, this one had them beat. It is refurbished but the condition was like new when it arrived. The 48x speed definitely makes a difference as one morning I was rushing before work to make a cd to listen to in the car and a few minutes later it was done. This unit definitely serves its purpose for me and does what it says it does.

This external DVD drive is just the ticket for use with my Surface Pro 3. I have the docking station so the USB is available for it. I have many old picture CD's and some old drivers for peripherals, this DVD drive is easy to use, plug and play.
