I use unsalted butter because I can control how much salt I have in my food. It makes a great grilled cheese sandwich with the outsides buttered. I freeze it until I need it. I defrost it in the refrigerator. I keep it at room temperature and it spreads well.

My mom always used this butter when I was growing up to make her pies and cookies and everything else. After she died I wanted to try to make everything she used to make around the holidays, and I tried using a slightly cheaper butter, but discovered it doesn't set as well as Land O Lakes does. Rich, creamy taste!
I switched from margarine to butter about two years ago and i immediately felt better physically. Never gave it much thought after that about which BRAND of butter to get, i just purchased the least expensive. Then i spotted the Land O Lakes and the price wasn't any higher than the generic brand i had been purchasing so i gave it a try. It was a world of difference! My son and i both noticed the improved taste and texture IMMEDIATELY. THIS is the butter to purchase! I'll never go back to generic butter ever again!
