The BLACK+DECKER LST400 12in High Performance String Trimmer/Edger. With up to 1 hour runtime**, this lightweight trimmer/edger gets the job done with maximum comfort and control. It is quiet and easy to start, delivering great cutting results without the mess and hassles of gas powered trimmers. The Trimmer/Edger easily converts from a Trimmer to an Edger in seconds. A wheeled edge guide has been added for balance and to eliminate the need to hover the Trimmer/Edger over the line of grass between the lawn and sidewalk while edging. Simply roll along the sidewalk or driveway, and the wheel supports the weight of the Trimmer/Edger for a fine edge and straight, clean edges. In a significant step forward in string trimmer technology, the Lithium High Performance Trimmer/Edger features a dual-mode switch, which provides the options of choosing high power or extended run time for trimming large yards without the hassles of gas-powered trimmer/edgers. In high-power mode, the Trimmer/Edger ramps up the power output to quickly take down heavy grass and weeds. In runtime mode, the Trimmer/Edger provides up to one hour of runtime for normal trimming. BLACK+DECKER?S patented Automatic Feed Spool AFS advances the trimming line with no bumping required. The Trimmer/Edger comes complete with a pre-wound 30-foot spool. A critical component that enhances the Trimmer/Edger?s cutting power is BLACK+DECKER?S patented POWERDRIVE Transmission, which delivers consistent power in most grass types, helping to maintain cutting performance while trimming and edging in heavy grass or weeds.

I finally had enough of my old gas trimmer. I had been looking for a while at trimmers and couldn't find one that I really liked. A guy I knew had just bought this one and liked it. So I figured I would buy this one. I loved it the first time I used it. It was easy to assemble and is pretty light weight. I like that there are two power settings. I only needed to use the higher power setting when edging along the sidewalk where the grass was badly overgrown. The wheel makes edging a lot easier as well. I have a small yard so I can't give a good review of the battery life. All in all this is a great product for the price.

I purchased this trimmer because of my budget. I had read the reviews of this trimmer versus others in this price range and felt that this would be the best buy. It is. This trimmer so far has done a great job of cutting vines, grass and assorted brush. The charge on it, using the lithium battery has been excellent. The trimmer is lightweight and with just a press of a button you can rotate the head to edge your driveway, yard, etc. It's better unlike other units I've used that had me frustrated with poor designs. The auto feed is a nice touch, as bumping to feed breaks over time and leads to manually refeeding the string. Again, this trimmer has made detailing my yard a joy again.
