In a small Spanish town, Moncho, an 8-year-old boy, flees in terror on the first day of school because he has heard that teachers are violent towards students. Don Gregorio, the only teacher that all the children love, goes on his quest to bring him home. From then on, the new school year begins for Moncho, learning knowledge and life. Don Gregorio instills in him knowledge that is as core as it is not very academic: the American origin of potatoes, the courteous skills of the platypus or the need for a butterfly's tongue to have a spiral shape. With the arrival of spring, Don Gregorio undertakes the adventure of holding classes in the field. But neither Moncho nor Don Gregorio have considered what is to come.
