This as a great welder I upgraded to this from a basic harbor freight unit. I'm not a professional welder but I am a retired auto tech with 29 years and I will say lincoln welders are the best of both worlds they do a professional job and they are very forgiving to amateurs learning. Make sure you get yourself a tank of shielding gas so you can use the full potential of this unit.
