This is a beautiful lamp whether the light is on or off. When it's on it casts lovely designs on the walls and ceiling. We have it in a corner so that is especially true. The shipping was quick and came well protected. We have two of these lamps and the only negative comment would be the ""canopy"". That's the metal part that sits up against the ceiling. The lamps come with unattractive shiny chrome ones that don't look good at all with the lamp and black cord. For both lamps, we went to a local lamp store to purchase black ones that match better. The photos show it with the canopy we purchased separately. We love the lamps so much that we were willing to deal with the canopies which were another $15 for each lamp.
