Nice landscaping option.
Red lava rock adds a nice decorative touch to my landscaping projects. Using an underpayment of landscaping fabric, it contrasts nicely with the house walls which it helps to protect them from soil dust. It makes each shrub stand out while helping overall visual continuity. I expect it will also help to preserve moisture around the plants like mulch usually does. To prevent weeds from settling in, I sprinkled some Preen before filling in with the rocks. The bags are easy to handle since lava rock has a lighter weight than river rock.
