fits perfectly in my cabinet, maximizing cabinet space. I have 6 of them, which admittedly was a bit pricey. but they allow me to store 10 lbs each of flour %26 sugar, package up multiple boxes of dehydrated potato flakes, several boxes of my favorite cereal, and bulk purchases of rolled oats. it's a bit heavy for some folks when full of course so if you can't handle it, I just wouldn't. also, I have previously stored random nuts and bolts in these, which weighs considerably more than food items and the handle and lid are firm and durable - not cracking or breaking for years and years. I line my containers with 2.5 gallon hefty bags (because I just prefer to do that). the bag fills the container very well and I roll the bag over the top ledge of the container then press the lid on. works perfectly
