K&H Pet Products Ice Eliminator Super Birdbath Deicer Natural Super 80 Watts

I purchased this heater in A freezing cold below zero winter. I have it in a plastic bird bath. I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. The birds and squirrels are happy too! I do wish the cord was longer but all in all it's an excellent heater. The picture shows a lead cord going up to the bird bath cord.

I bought this bird back deicer on the recommendation of a friend who has one. The one she has is her second one with the first one being the 50W. That one only lasted a year. The 80W is going on it's 4th year now and still keeping her water clear. I've only had this for about a month, but we also have gone through some of the coldest temps this winter, dipping as low as -15 degrees. It's not been above freezing for weeks, yet this deicer has kept the water clear. The birdbath isn't located in an area I can readily see it, (it's up against the house on the back deck under an overhanging vine), but I can hear the birds out there. I gave it 4 stars in some of the areas simply because I've not had it long. I definitely am glad I bought it, it seems tough and fits well is the 14" bath I've put it in. I would recommend it.
