Kill The Poor (Widescreen)

In 1982, Manhattan's Lower East Side was a cauldron overflowing with junkies and thieves...and ordinary working-class people struggling to achieve the American Dream. When a young married couple (David Krumholtz and Clara Bellar) buy an apartment in a run-down building, the residents band together to protect their homes from the hostile streets outside. But there's one problem inside: Carlos (Paul Calderon), a long-time squatter, refuses to pay rent. Based on the novel by Joel Rose, Kill the Poor is a visceral drama about the price of gentrification, and the evolving heart and soul of New York City.
