Above and beyond
I have been disappointed with every big laptop brand out there recently. HP,Dell, and even Surface 3 laptops all tend to make high pitched noises which really bothers me. I have also tried Lenovo, but they have flickering screens. The LG gram has MacBook like build quality, but it actually has a variety of ports and runs Windows which is a must for me. The magnesium alloy body isn't so vulnerable to scratches like aluminum, and doesn't feel so cold to the touch. Screen is excellent, though there is some glare, which is typical. It isn't a touchscreen, but that's fine with me, as I feel using touchscreens promotes poor posture. Touchpad isn't that big but it feels good, without the grittiness that Dell uses. Finally, after buying and returning 9 laptops, I found the one.

Would highly reccomend
LG is and upgrade/replacement for an 8 yo Dell which worked well but was slow and repair shop said start thinking about a replacement about a year ago. Lots of questions and research led me to the LG which rates high and unlike Mac w/o relearning that os. This one is fast and the user satisfaction is high as is reliably for such a short time on the market. If it hold up as well as my LG refrig I will be happy.

Wonderful Laptop
I use Linux instead of Windows to get my work down. Everything plays nicely. Better actually than Windows. I haven't been able to get USB drives to work with Windows. WIth Linux, no problem. I chose an LG Gram because I have bad feet & need to a light (~ 2.4 pounds, 1-kg) but powerful laptop.
