Keen Mens Lansing Low Performance Lifestyle Work and Safety Shoes

I have to wear steel toe shoes/boots, these are the most comfortable that I have found. Wore my other pair out and I knew what I was going to replace them with.

I have worn out many brands of shoes, because I use them hard. I'm 70 now so I have had a good deal of experience doing that. Keen is the best shoe I have found for hunting elk in manzanita and oak brush, mineral prospecting, hunting for trail markers left by Spaniards who were mining in the area a couple of centuries ago, farming, welding, or just walking, Keen is better than any other shoe I've seen. I have only owned low tops, so I don't use them cutting fire wood, lest sawdust get in the shoes. I don't use them working cattle on horseback because they just don't replace cowboy boots for that. But when we went to France last year on a ten day pilgrimage, I had two pair of Keen because they are stable for a lot of walking and look good as well. About 20 years ago I had a 5 year old pair I threw away because I stepped on hot metal out of my forge and melted the sole, and it broke along that line. Other than that, I only throw them away because they begin to smell bad due to years of hard use. I can't think of a better referral for a shoe than “I can't wear them out”, so there you have it.
