Would not recommend.

I was excited when I bought this because my finches waste alot of seed and I thought this would catch what they usually drop to the ground giving others a chance to eat it. Worked as expected.....but during the first rainfall I realized the FLAW. the bottom "shell" has no way to allow water to escape, so my thistle seed turned rancid quick and the finches have stopped using it. They still use my thistle sock, so I will be retuning this to the store. Maybe you could poke some small holes in the bottom.
