These are easily repositioned and yet do not move around after you put them in place. So far they are not holding dirt and are safer than the bare wood I placed them on. I used to slip on the stairs after a small bit of rain outside but not with these. I had enough for all the stairs plus one extra, which I placed on the wooden landing inside the door for extra traction on wet shoes. The dark brown ones I got have a simple pattern that gives the stair runners just a little bit of flair and adds to the appearance of the previously plain wood.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this discovery. My basement stairs are so dirty because of the kids going up and down I figured I would get is a shot.
