To make the Mocha look we coat first with Cherry Oil which has reddish tones and then a topcoat of black oil. Since the oils are transparent the first coat of oil allows the browns to show through but gives it a richer brown with red tones. The Black oil then gives it that mocha look

This does not compromise the structural performance or integrity of the wood and is considered inherent to the natural beauty of the design.
