Jurassic World Thrash 'n Throw Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinosaur Figure

Almost every kid loves a dinosaur & none more than the mighty T-Rex, the terrifying dinosaur that shook the ground whenever it appeared in the Jurassic Parkk, and now the Jurassic World movies, and I found it was no exception with my son! In terms of it's appearance I was impressed with both the size of the model (measuring approximately twenty two inches in length), the extremely realistic sculpting; from the scales on the dinosaur to the beady eyes filled with intent, teeth, and the detail inside of the mouth – ligaments and tongue that made it seem even more realistic & scary. It's quite well painted as well, with shading around the face and eyes to make it look more like the real thing. To be fair, it's probably the most realistic toy I've seen so far and I liked the fact that the T-Rex was jointed in such a way that you can not only pose the dinosaur but also move sections like the tail to cause the dinosaur to shake its head from side to side and open its mouth with a fearsome roar, and allows it to open and close the mouth to pick and then fling them across the room. On top of the roar, there is a small button on the feet so that the T-Rex makes a great stomping sound to imitate the sound of its feet crashing on the ground, something my seemed to enjoy immensely as he stomped the dinosaur around the house and made it roar, and thrash its head around. However, being only four; it took him a while to work out how to move the tail to make the head go up and down and side to side so that he make the T-Rex pick things up and throw them about – but I guess part of the fun is that I could play with my son as we both worked out how to do it. My only criticism, and it's a very minor one; is that the toy didn't come with anything/accessories to thrash 'n' throw – it is a shame it didn't come with a little velociraptor included for that reason, or to recreate the classic scene from the franchise. However, it's not a major issue as there are a number of other models in the range at quite reasonable prices. Regardless; it's extremely playable and very sturdy - and my son hasn't put it down since we got it but if you are buying this for your child I'd perhaps suggest getting one of the Mattel attack pack figures or even one of the bigger ones like the Indoraptor or the Mosasaurus. That being said, it is an amazing looking toy – it looks and feels like a scale model of the 'real' thing and as mentioned, the attention to detail and proportion is great – I studied palaeontology and it's pretty much what I'd expect one to look like! This is a superb toy and I would recommend it, though perhaps not on the occasion when, in the very early hours of the morning, my son used it to literally scare me out of bed. It's great value and great fun. I just wish they'd had stuff like this when I was a kid.

Love love love this dinosaur. He roars, he moves, he looks like a real dinosaur! Once our 6 year old son learnt how to move his tail to make him roar that was it. You can move the TRex's arms, legs, tail and head. His mouth opens to roar and he also bends down to roar too depending on how you move his tail. It's a good quality toy too. As with any child, this toy has been thrown about and charged into fights with other toys whilst it ‘eats' other dinosaurs etc and it has certainly withstood some serious play! Not a scratch on it. This is a great toy for any dinosaur loving child.
