Yes, there is definitely a story here: the olfactory area in the human brain is the oldest brain area from an evolutionary standpoint. Memories are created there, before humans develop the ability to speak. And these olfactory memories are incredibly strong, and can survive even severe brain damage. When I first smelled Red Roses, my knees buckled: it is the EXACT fragrance of my childhood summers in Romania. That's about 50 years ago. Every time I spray it on, images and feelings are brought up, which have tremendous intensity.

Each Jo Malone scent I try, I seem to fall in love with, but Red Roses is truly the most beautiful, clean, natural rose I've ever found. Aside from a fresh cut bouquet, or actually being in a Rose garden. This candle has a slightly bright citrus note which is subtle and very clean. Usually, I am weary of Rose scents as I don't like musky old lady floral scents, but this is exquisite and the exception. I sent a couple of these to family members for Valentine's Day and they are hooked. After Valentine's Day I went online to replace mine as I burned it constantly and I nearly lost my mind when they were temporarily out of stock. Thankfully it came back rather soon. I also purchased the Red Roses body cream and bath oil. It's an expensive habit but you have to pick your poison in life, and there are things far worse than self pampering. They better keep this scent forever and never discontinue!
