I absolutely love this toy for my son who is almost 8 months old. Right now, he's fascinated by the items 'popping' up, but he hasn't figured out how I do it. :) The buttons/gears are all nice %26 tight so they'll last a long time. It is such a cool design with the one row of animals and then the other row behind it, sort of 'organ' (musical kind) style. I love that all the buttons/gears activate differently. The colors of this are wonderfully chosen, too. The animals all look friendly and comforting and he's not frightened of it at all. The 'popping' noises as they come up are not extremely loud like I've seen some, where it can scare infants (and disturb the whole family). I love how you can use this to talk about all kinds of things like shapes, colors, animal types, and how simple machines work in real life. For instance, you can talk about where you might see an actual push-button or flip-switch or turnkey design. Equally important to the fun, this design is VERY well made. It's built to last for tons of fun. I would definitely buy this as a baby shower gift or for a child's first birthday. Honestly, I could see three-year-olds loving it. Why not give them something like this to do over screen time?!
