This certainly does the job. The only negative, which is minor, really, is the magnets aren't very strong. I did add some 3M removable tape on the back for just a bit more stability. I love it . . finishes the top edge of the stove off nicely. FWIW, I almost bought the same item for $40 on another site . . excellent value.

I have a few things I put on the stove top (recipe holder, toothpick holder). The area on my stove above the dials is slanted and recipe cards, toothpicks etc can fall behind the stove. This shelf is the perfect solution. It has the lip in the back that keeps items from falling behind the stove. My stove top is a little curved. This shelf straightens the area so I can better put small items on it. This shelf is well made of durable, strong metal. It has strong magnets on the bottom that keep it well attached to the stove top.
