I assembled and placed three sides of this brand and style of bed rail myself. Had it not been for my own user error (the special screws are different than the other screws included, duh!), assembly would have been really quick. Once I figured out my mistake, assembly went really fast. Placement of all three sides was tough by myself. I took the mattress completely off the bed but I don't think that was actually necessary. Maybe I could have just slipped the slats under… maybe. Especially since I didn't screw the rails to the bunky board. I'm relying on the weight of the mattress to keep the rails in place. The look is cute. The pockets are convenient. The rails slide up and down relatively easily. I got two large 78” rails and one smaller 59” rail (I think the sizes are right) and they fit my queen size mattress perfectly, no big gaps. Price is amazing—I couldn't find rails like this for any cheaper. My only caveat / complaint is that the bottom support bar can't be lifted high enough to sit flush with my tall mattress. I don't think it was that high, but the bottom rails sit low so my little 4 lb. dog can get caught between the netting and the mattress. It's only about 3” too short but it's short enough… I guess a toddler wouldn't have that problem, though? Overall, really impressed and pleased with quality, especially for the price!
