Although the optical design is state-of-the-art, this superb wide angle lens remains true to the original Sonnar concept with a bright F2.8 maximum aperture (?Sonne? means ?sun? in German). The Sony 20-200 F4 G lens
While it's not as fast as I would like (f4 instead of f2.8) but it is sharp! Used this lens recently for a onstage concert job and was blown away with the detail and smooth transition from sharp to blur. For me this lens coupled with the Sony A7rii gave me more shot keepers that my previous pro gear

I have had this lens now for 1 1/2 years. I love it! I am using it more than I would have thought. I use it for landscapes and urban scenes and it allows me to get tight and close shots of many items to keep my photos simple without clutter or confusion. Even at 2.8 or at 16, the results are beautiful!
