A lot of bang for the buck

Mostly, I am doing wildlife photography. The RP with the 24-240mm kit lens does an excellent job overall, with a sensor that doesn't choke your workflow with huge image sizes. The good news and bad news are the same item: extremely powerful functionality that carries with it the need to master a complex menu system. Canon, I am told, has the best menu system in the business, but the options are so numerous that even then they take a lot of work to master. The lens covers the vast majority of shooting needs. With this gear, if I don't get good pictures, it won't be the equipment's fault. As for options, unless your hands are tiny, you're going to want the extension grip.
