Excellent and bright solar light. After making sure the batteries were fully charged before first use, they lasted about 6 hours. The light does not fully shut off, but goes into a low power dim mode, when motion is detected, it goes brightens the lights. So to make sure the batteries last, it is best to place the light in a location where it will not be set off at random, such as where there are trees or bushes, as when it gets windy, the motion from the branches will keep the light in high light mode, and will drain the batteries faster. The batteries are 2 18650 lithium ion rechargeable cells. I used a universal battery charger to initially charge up the cells, otherwise, you have to keep the light turned off for 3 days to fully charge the power cells before first use. I personally think this is a great value for the price for a walkway?landscaping light. If you are looking for an all night security light, best bet would be to get a wired motion sensor light. This light can be all mounted or pole mounted, but to get the maximum light output, it needs to be placed in a location where it will get the maximum about of sunlight during the daylight hours to charge the batteries.

i love this solar light. it reflects a little light all the time unless motion is detected then it becomes bright! the light panels are movable in different directions, easy to install and the simplicity look i love. i read a review on here about it getting so hot it melted the plastuc? seems strange since its a solar light. im definitely going to purchase more. Great Solar Light. I love it ! i wish it came in white.
