I needed a nice night light for my bedroom and living room. But, not to bright that it would disturb my sleep. I bought two of these Salt Lamps for a few reasons. One being that they have dimmer switches. The lowest setting allows just enough of the softest glow of pink to let you find your way around the house safely at night but, not disturb your sleep. Secondly, I read that salt lamps help clean the indoor air. They are heavy, made to last with a sturdy base and thick high quality electrical cord. And last, they are just really cool looking sitting out on display. I'm very happy with my purchase.
