Product details
This is the spike or whole plant of the perennial herb, Prunella vulgaris L. (Family Labiaceae), grown in the regions throughout China, mainly produced when its spikes become withered, and dried in the sunlight. Properties: Bitterness and pungent in flavour, coldness in nature, it acts liver and gallbladder channels. Its bitter flavour and cold property clear the heat and fire, and the pungency resolves the hard lumps. The herb can clear the excessive fire from liver and gallbladder to improve vision, and reduce the phlegm- fire stasis to remove scrofula. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Delicious tonic
As I expected. I disagree with one reviewer who complained about sulfur dioxide or sulfites being added. Virtually all dried fruits and vegetables are treated with sulfites to inhibit bacterial growth and preserve the flavor and color. It is added to wine to halt fermentation. In any case, the dried prunella herbal should be washed before using, I washed it twice, squeezing the water out. The washing is for removing dirt and removing residual sulfites. I made my tea by simmering in water for 30 minutes along with some dried chrysanthemum.
